This beautiful Edwin Jagger Imitation Ivory Best Badger Shaving Brush (Deluxe) is made entirely in Sheffield at the Edwin Jagger factory. This brush is a fine example of the master craftsmanship of Europe’s foremost manufacturer of luxury handmade shaving equipment.

It is manufactured using a highly polished imitation Ivory polyester and filled with Best Badger hair. Best badger is a good-quality grade of badger hair, ideal for those looking for a less expensive and reliable shaving brush. It is one of our most popular grades of badger hair. The hair is more common than Silver Tip and Super grades and is taken from thicker parts of the pelt, including the underbelly. Best badger hair is generally shorter and darker in colour than the finer grades although the colours of individual hairs vary from grey and brown to black. The hairs are less soft, producing a stiffer and slightly less flexible shaving brush knot that is ideal for preparing the beard and coarse facial hair while providing a firm exfoliating sensation. This grade of badger hair transfers a good amount of water so traditional shavers can whip up a rich and luxurious shaving lather with ease.

A shaving brush, especially one of this quality, is used to lather up the shaving soap or cream. The brush will gently apply the lather to the face, successfully preparing the skin and beard for a comfortable and easy shave.
